Thanks to a State’s Economic Development Assistance Program $465,000 grant Start Co. will be serving entrepreneurs & small businesses in the Central Business Improvement District through accelerators, dynamic events, one on one assistance, and the support of place based investments making them more conducive to entrepreneurship activity.

Thanks to support from the More For Memphis Plan, Start Co. is bringing entrepreneurial building methods to ecosystem partners and the entrepreneurs they serve in South Memphis. This will be done through “train the trainer” services, accelerators, events, incubator creation, and one on one coaching.

Program
The Founder's Journey Program is an online resource with self paced tools and video content designed to help founders and business owners who need support in growth and operational modeling. These tools also serve as modules for partners and other ecosystem builders who need to refrence content in support of their training and assistance to entrepreneurs and fiorms.

CATALYTIC INVESTMENT FUND
Start Co. is working with The City of Memphis & EDGE and other regional partners to reserach & develop a catalytic investment fund for needed economic interventions. HR&A Advisors was engaged to research & develop an economic development fund that will coordinate and intersect investments in businesses & entrepreneurs, placed based projects, and future of work investments. Here is the landscape analysis that was completed to be followed by fund and governance recommendations.

The Innovation Exchange is an advocacy platform for showcasing innovation, fostering collaboration, and connecting the city to the world. It features live ecosystem experiences that bring together all stages of firm development; startup, commercialization, and market expansion. This is all about ideas, and the knowledge share and co-investment needed to actually execute them. The Innovation Exchange will produce experiences that drive the better cultivation of the assets, networks, culture, and community for our firms and innovators.
